We have put together some key information that will assist you with understanding how the booking process works and to help you choose the right options for your trip.

Motorhome Hire Rates
You will find that our rates will vary depending on season and demand, exactly like many hotels, airlines and car rental businesses. If you are flexible with your travel dates then you could check a few weeks or even days either side of your initial selected date to see if a lower rate applies.
Selecting your preferred travel dates on our motorhomes page will instantly give you the pricing for the time of year entered, you will also find that our daily hire rate is discounted for longer hire periods.
We are one of the only motorhome hire businesses that charge by the night, not by the day (therefore saving you one day's hire during the hire period). We do however require that the Motorhome drop off and handover is completed by 12.00pm on the return day selected.
Airport Pick Up / Drop Off and First / Last Nights' Accommodation
We offer a complimentary Auckland airport pick up or drop off and a luxury private country guest suite at our motorhome base for all our clients. Stay a night in our suite, then get to know your motorhome through and through so you are refreshed and ready to hit the road!
One-Way Hire or Return to Auckland or Christchurch - Your choice
The majority of international flights to and from New Zealand are via Auckland. However due to the unique geography of our country it makes a lot of sense to arrive in Auckland and to depart from Christchurch (in the South Island) should you decide to make your motorhome adventure a one-way hire.
Your choice is to pick up and drop off in Auckland or Christchurch, or we offer a one way hire from Auckland to Christchurch, however should you wish to change this around and reverse your route, then we also offer a Christchurch to Auckland one way hire option.

We pride ourselves in being flexible and being able to offer customised hire options that will also include alternative drop off locations - please contact us directly to discuss your plans.
Ferry Booking (If travelling between Islands)
Inter-Island ferry booking – It is important that this is booked early particularly during our peak season (Summer). You can make this booking yourself or we can make this for you. We only recommend booking the changeable/refundable ticket option (there are cheaper price options, but you will have very little flexibility).
NOTE: There is no additional admin charge for making the booking on your behalf if you would like us to do this for you the rates for 2019/2020 are as follows:
Circa $375 (motorhome & driver) + $75 (second passenger)

All our motorhome rental rates include vehicle insurance costs for the duration of the hire. We have a standard excess applicable of $2,500 per incident or accident in the unfortunate event of a claim. We also provide the opportunity to further reduce the standard excess as follows.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are holidaying with "Travel Insurance" many policies will cover you for rental vehicle excess - please check this before choosing your excess option as you may already have excess reduction insurance cover in place. If this is the case, then you will NOT need to purchase insurance excess reduction (if this is your preferred choice) and should opt for the standard insurance excess option therefore providing you with a saving.
If you have not yet taken out travel insurance but intend to then still select Standard Excess, either way this option can be amended at any point up to, or on the first day of hire.
1. Standard - Excess $2,500 (included in hire)
2. Premium - Reduced Excess $1,500 for extra $45/day*
3. Premier - Low Excess $500 for extra $59/day*
Item2 & 3 are only available for a hire period greater than 14 nights
Our Insurance covers the Motorhome (including Public Liability) and bikes only. The following items are not covered:
Loss of baggage
Theft of possession’s or personal Items
Theft or Loss or Damage of hire extras (Bikes are covered under our policy)
Changes of holiday plans prior to or during your rental
Hire days lost because of travel delays
We recommend that you also arrange your own travel insurance. This may cover you for rental vehicle excess cover (as mentioned above - policy dependent), as well as other events such as illness, delays or missed connections, lost or stolen or damaged personal items, travel cancellation, personal accidents and liability.
We are one of the only hire businesses that do not charge an additional fee for credit card payments. All credit card payments are made via a secure payment system (Stripe). Payment can also be made by International Bank Transfer.
Deposit - A 30% deposit is due upon making your booking
Balance - The balance of your payment is due 42 days prior to your hire commencing
You may cancel your booking up to 60 days before the hire starts without having to pay any penalty or owning any obligations;
Cancellation between 59 and 21 days prior to pick up, loss of deposit;
Less than 21 days or on the day of pick up 100% of the total hire cost.
Road User Charges
New Zealand operates a Diesel Vehicle Road User Charge system (Fuel Tax), as unlike petrol, diesel fuel is not taxed at the pump. If you're only planning to travel short distances, then we wouldn’t want you to pay the same as a person who is going to travel longer distances. So, we've taken the government tax on diesel fuel (Road User Charge) out of our hire charges.
Our Road User Charge Recovery Fee is based on actual kilometres travelled during your hire, so you only pay for what you use.
A Road User Charge Recovery Fee is payable at the end of your hire. The Road User Charge Recovery Fee is charged at the same rate as the government charges us i.e. $7.80 per 100km for motorhomes more than 3.5 tonnes in weight.
We do not place a hold or bond on your credit card at the commencement of your hire and we are one of only a few vehicle rental businesses that have this practice. We do however point out the we require you to have sufficient funds available on your credit card at the time of the motorhome return/drop off should a charge be payable (I.E. Insurance excess applicable in the event of an insurance claim, the motorhome is returned late, or is not returned to the agreed location, or if accessories hired with the motorhome are not returned, or if the vehicle is not fully refuelled (vehicle fuel & bottled gas). You are automatically authorising these charges if applicable when you add your signature to the rental agreement.
